cooking foods for the holiday

Red Cabbage
this is from a friend in Sweden.
A dish they make for Chirstmas

1 red cabbage
1 yellow or red onion
4 sourish apples
2 tbsp margarine or vegetable oil
8 cloves
5 Jamaica peppers
1-2 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp wine vinegar or lemon juice
salt to taste

Proceed as follows:
Cut the red cabbage into thin slices. Cut the apples (without
the cor and peels) into peices.
Slice the onions.
Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
Add the cabbage, onion , apples, spices, vinegar and salt.
Cook covered over low heat for one hour, stiring occasionally.
Add more vinegar or lemon juice according to taste.
Serve hot.
If prepared during high season for red cabbage (autumn-early winter),
the dish can be deep frozen and kept for a least half a year.

I'm decorating for Christmas
I just love Christmas
and it is Casey's first one.
She is funny around the tree
she thinks the tree skirt is something for her
to lay on.
Will need to get a picture.

OK where has the time gone to?
Casey is now 5 months old
she has a doctors appointment with a shot
today
and her nails need cutting
she does not like them to be cut but they
are dangerous to me.

I'm decorating for Christmas
a little every day.
will take me about a month to get it all done.

today is errand day and some cleaning and organizing
I need to finish some craft things and get something for Casey

It has also been a week since surgery for me.
will be glad when bandages come off

good morning
it is Sunday and I usually work on Christmas on Sundays
makes it so you don't have to rush come the holiday.
Feels good to have it all completed.

So today will finish ortaments
and get them wrapped.

A week ago Casey had her surgery.
She has no idea she had surgery.

I had to take her back to the Vet. because she
was swollen.
I had to make sure that she was not falling out.

She is a good little girl

Hello.
My I have had my puppy for almost a month.
Her name is Casey.
She is keeping me busy.
And is almost house broken.

A sweet shepard mix.
Mix with who knows what.

Keeps me hopping.

Where did the week go?

OK where did the week go to?
Last Monday at about 10 am i went to the SPCA
and bought my puppy.
It has been interesting.
and so cute.

Oh happy day
I found a puppy
They were dumped at the SPCA
Oh how cute.

I went and met her a week ago saturday.
I brought her home on Monday.

She is a shepard mix. So cute.
and smart as well.
I named her Casey
and she is learning fast.

I am looking for a puppy. You would think that
they would welcome loving people wanting puppies.
NO that is not the case.

They are a money market item.

I have been up to my ears in swaps.
I have decided that I will finish the 2 others and
not sign up for any others
just consentrate on getting published.

Good morning it is 7/14/07
wow the month is half gone
OK today I will be getting things ready for some swaps i'm in.
A embellishment popper swap , using empty toilet paper rolls.
Filling them with embellishments.
covering with alum. foil.

Then an altered CD

will see how much i get done.
I would also like a walk but don't know if I can handle that yet.

I ran errands this morning
took a nap this afternoon.

Sent a page layout to a friend.
It might get published??????

that is what I am working on getting published.
I'm sure I will go balistic if I see something i have done
in a magazine.

I also ordered some stamps from a company I would like
to work for in exchange for free stamps.

today was a run around day
getting things for tomorrows picnic.

Paid ,my cell phone bill and told them I hated my new phone and traded

it is the first day of July
did nothing crafty today.
It is almost the 4th of July.
a celebration of our nations history.

I have wanted to create a quilt that looks like
fireworks in the sky.
I have never given it a try.
Maybe this year.
